Giles confessed to the 1973 murders of five Titusville, Florida area women, whose partly clad and decomposed bodies were found over a two-month period in orange groves. His victims were all hitchhikers whom he picked up and drove at gunpoint to remote orange groves where he sexually abused and shot them. At the time he began the murders the married 20-year-old Giles was working as an electrician and did not have a criminal record. Giles has been interviewed and featured in a number of true crime documentaries most recently the 2019 'Confessions of a Serial Killer' UK television show.
