In the annals of horror, certainly few concepts are as terrifying as real-life slasher cases. Operating on this assumption, the Echo Bridge Home Entertainment compilation
THRILLER TRIPLE FEATURE presents a triumvirate of programs pulled directly from the most gruesome headlines of late 20th Century serial homicides.
It begins with a feature entitled THE SIX DEGREES OF HELTER SKELTER - a 2009 documentary on the 1969 Tate-La Bianca slayings by the Charles Manson family, that features original Manson music recordings, chilling archival photos of Manson and his gang, and grisly excerpts from autopsy reports.
The second program in the set, THE STRANGER BESIDE ME (AKA ANN RULE PRESENTS: THE STRANGER BESIDE ME, 2003) is a made-for-cable telemovie that recreates the horrifying tale of mid-late 1970s Ted Bundy, with a dramatization of that maniac's exploits starring Barbara Hershey, Billy Campbell and Kevin Dunn.
Finally, Stuart Taylor's 2009 documentary THE BONEYARD dives into what is arguably the most repulsive crime scene investigation in U.S. history - the tale of serial murderers Leonard Lakes and Charles Ng, who slew an overwhelming number of people and buried the bodies on their property.
