Sean Richard Sellers, executed February 5, 1999 for crimes committed while under the age of 18. Sellers was the first person in the United States to be executed for a crime committed under the age of 17. His case drew worldwide attention due to his age, his jailhouse conversion to Christianity and his claim that demonic possession made him innocent of his crimes.
This painting was sent to the recipient by Sellers himself in 1998 shortly before his execution. Signed on the front 'Sean Sellers 98' as well signed and dedicated on the verso. You will be hard pressed to find a Sellers painting for sale anywhere else online. Painting has a small bit of wear around the top right edge and a very light 6 inch scratch on the left side but is overall good condition. We would gauge the painting a C+ condition and has held up quite well. The painting measures 12"x16" and is acrylic on canvas.
