Ricardo Muñoz Ramírez known as Richard Ramirez was an American serial killer, rapist, and burglar. His highly publicized home invasion crime spree terrorized the residents of the greater Los Angeles area, and later the residents of the San Francisco area, from June 1984 until August 1985. Prior to his capture, Ramirez was dubbed the "Night Stalker" by the news media. He used a wide variety of weapons, including handguns, knives, a machete, a tire iron, and a hammer. Ramirez, who was an avowed Satanist, never expressed any remorse for his crimes. The judge who upheld his thirteen death sentences remarked that Ramirez's deeds exhibited "cruelty, callousness, and viciousness beyond any human understanding". Ramirez died of complications from B-cell lymphoma in 2013 while awaiting execution on California's death row.

I acted as Ramirez's art dealer from 1997 to around 2000 and was, at the time, selling his artwork for him on eBay. The customer who purchased this piece had also purchased a few other Ramirez pieces and has kept in touch with me through the years. We are now offering the original piece for resale. Ramirez, as far as we know, only did 3 or 4 of these Butcher Knife pieces. A well known collector in Ohio was sent one, I, Eric Holler, was sent one - and I have seen one or two others online over the last 20 years.We have recorded phone calls with Ramirez as well as documentation from Doreen in which the above facts can be easily verified.

**Although not included with purchase - we have added a scan (please forgive the quality, as we only have a low res scan of the letter) of the original letter that Doreen included with the package of art, dated January 2, 1998, that included the butcher knife piece (Doreen acted as a liaison at times between Richard and myself to help get the artwork to me faster). In the letter she mentions the butcher knife piece by name being her and Richard's favorite "I love the knife with the eyes, one of our favorites".

The piece is 8.5" X 11" and is on cardstock/thick paper. It was done with black marker and black crayon and is signed in full with his name and his NIGHT STALKER moniker. It has been well taken care of and is in excellent (A+) condition as there are no rips, tears, folds, creases or otherwise anomalies on the piece. This artwork is the quintessential Ramirez piece.
