Handwritten 3 page letter from school shooter Michael Carneal. In this letter postmarked March 30 2009, 2Carneal discusses the day he went on the shooting spree at Heath High School in Paducah, Kentucky December 1st, 1997. Letter is handwritten as well as matching envelope, both are signed in full.

Carneal discusses his crimes, as well he also speaks about the medications he is on, sports (NFL Football), movies such as "Dodgeball", music and the bands he is into (Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Iron Maiden, etc), life at Kentucky State Reformatory and other general chat. The highlights of this letter is no doubt the crime details as well as the details of his medications..

“I really don’t know much about weapons.  I do know what a Mossberg is though. When I got arrested I had five guns. The handgun was a 22. I think I had two double barrel 12 gauges and two 22’s. So I had 2 shotguns, 2 rifles, and a handgun. I wasn’t targeting anyone. I don’t remember what happened very well. Most people who saw me said I look like I’m someone else. My sister even didn’t recognize me till she saw the clothes. They said I was taller and just had an empty stare. The people who got shot that day I all knew. They were all decent people. The actual shooting only lasted a short bit, but I don’t really remember it. Over the years I’ve heard so many different versions of what happened that even my vague recollection is even more scattered. I don’t remember what’s real and what’s delusion and what’s all other peoples’ perception. It’s all a clusterfuck of memories.”
