James Jones is one of Arizona's most violent inmates. While not the typical 'killer' that we normally list. Jones has a long record of extremely violent assaults on inmates and staff alike which has added many more years to his original burglary and aggravated assault sentence. James wanted to write a little about himself so the below is from James himself. We love his art and style and feel he fits in very well on Serial Killers Ink.
"Living in a box is an interesting way of life, ask any toy at Toys R' Us and they'll tell you. I was locked up at the age of 17 after a long string of general pillaging which lead to an encounter with the police and a bit of gunfire. I've been in prison since then mostly in super maximum units my entire adult life. My release date has come and gone years ago and I've since had a few incidents of violence that resulted in more time. Sometimes violence is the only means of communication understood by some people.
My art is a means for me to enjoy a sense of freedom that's never been available to me in the past 14 years. i tend to explore dark themes and idea in philosophy in a skewed way and leave a lot of obscure references in my work to classic themes. However mostly I like to provoke thought in the viewer as my intentions mean little because perspective is everything.... Ask the toys that live in boxes..." -- James Jones ADC# 171169
