Gregory Breeden became a notable character in the mid 90’s when he was sought in connection with the deaths of seven women over a period of twelve years in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1996 he had been charged with the murder of a woman, Viola McCoy, whose body was found in the Missouri River with her legs severed at the hips. However, because a witness would not testify, the charges were ultimately dropped.

Breeden ultimately spent ten years in prison for writing bad checks. He was paroled in 2002 but was sent back to prison shortly thereafter for soliciting a prostitute. He was again released in 2004, and soon after was charged with threatening a judge who had ruled against him in a court case. The jury in that case acquitted him of any crime. He was most recently arrested in October of 2013 for public indecency after urinating in the street outside his home in Raymore, Missouri.
