Q and A with
Roy Norris
interview September 09
Upon Release, who would be the first person you would visit, and why?
What's your most missed memory of the outside?
I think
you mean - what do I miss most of all outside? Well, I'd planned on buying
another motorcycle and riding to various 'open to the public mines' to find my
own opals, star garnets, diamonds, rubies, etc. I miss riding a bike down the
country roads. I miss going to the beach and girl watching. I miss being able to
flirt. I miss - Jubs; Bunny; Marian; a 'checkout girl' at a grocery
store in Redondo beach. (I gave her about 1/2 lb. of marijuana seeds for her
love birds). I miss my mom.
What is your current favorite book?
I don't even possess
a regular book, like a sci-fi or horror or romance or mystery. I haven't read a
book - cover to cover - since the last book of Stephen King's
"Gunslinger" series. I read art magazines and 'how to do art' books. I
have a Bible, dictionary, thesaurus, a 2004 almanac and my own misc. handmade
books. A drafting reference that explains "perspective" and 3 how to books that
I use as references. I'm expecting a watercolor pencil book and a book
of over 500 Lighthouses nationwide. I have requested to be put in line
for the last Harry Potter book (I can read it in a day).
What is your favorite movie - art - band/music - food - passage from the
bible?
My favorite movie?
That's a tough one! "Forbidden Planet". Art - Well I like visual effects and
details. I'm currently corresponding with an artist. A real one! Contemporary
Artists: Jim Warren, Birgit O' Connor, Brian Davis's florals! and hundreds more!
It's hard to say "him or her" only.
My favorite band?
None, I've tried in the past - to specify which groups I prefer -
there are too many! Willie Nelson, The Bee-Gee's, The Cars 'Moving in Stereo',
Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, The Foggy Bottom Boys, oriental flute music (I want
something like the soundtrack to the TV series "Kung Fu" - one flute, Roy
Orbison, Roy Clark, Mariah Carey, Pink Floyd -"Don't need no education", and
many, many more.
My Favorite food? If I were on
death row and was ordering my last meal - Rack of lamb or real salt cured smoked
dry ham - gravy of either hand mashed potatoes w/ milk and real butter,
asparagus w/ cheddar cheese sauce, split pea soup pr tomato soup, a tossed
chef's salad w/ blue cheese dressing - or Kraft avocado dressing, pecan pie w/
chocolate ice cream or German chocolate cake with double the coconut
icing/frosting. But I could just as easily go for salmon or tuna steaks - or
rainbow trout. Even venison. So many choices!
My
favorite Bible passage? The most important passage in my life is in
Mathew 18:6 and 7 - I've underlined #7. It's important to me, because I've not
asked for his forgiveness - and don't deserve it. It simply verifies to me that
I was "fated" to commit such crimes - I assume, to teach someone how to live
their lives.
What are your thoughts on the country and Obama?
I don't believe
any companies or banks should have been saved with bailouts! They made bad
decisions and should go down with all on board. Those who obviously made $ -
knowing the outcome should be tried and sent to prison or executed as TRAITORS
to their country! The top executives being paid vast amounts - a 22 cent
bullet could make them see the light (send it to them - as I'm not advocating
murders!)
Obama? Finally! We've evaded
that awful prejudice - as a country. I would've voted for Jesse Jackson - back
then.....not now! He's not the same man now. I don't like Palin. But Mrs.
Clinton would've been a good president - I think. I liked Clinton. He got us out
of debt! But Bush Jr. - a piece of crap! ((but none are worse than I, as I see
it)).
