Q and A with Leo Lansing Boatman
interview April 2011

Leo Lansing Boatman
Leo, Thanks for taking the time to talk with us. Can you tell our readers a little about yourself to start out the Q and A?
I guess the quickest way to describe myself is that I'm a product of the state. The state raised me and so what you see is what you get. I guess they fucked up.

If you had never been arrested, where would you see yourself today?
Probably just finishing college and starting some new career.

Do you have any regrets in life? If so what are they, and if you could, would you go back in time and change anything?
I'd probably go back to about age 9 and just start all over. Prison sucks.

Can you tell us your daily routine, what is your average day like?
Normally, I'll be ripping and running on the compound. But now that I'm in solitary, I work out, play chess through the window, and daydream. Not much else I can do. No books, radio or anything is allowed on Max management.

Do you have any hobbies or favorite activities? If so what are they?
On the street I'm a beach bum. I love the beach. In here my favorite activity is to get high. I'm a pothead. May not be "positive", but hell, what are you going to do? Lock me up?

Do you have any missed memories of the outside? If so what are they?
I definitely miss women. Probably one of the greatest feelings is to cruise around on my motorcycle. It was like the ultimate freedom. I think about that a lot.

What one thing would you want with you if you were stranded on a desert island by yourself?
A Television

What is your ideal partner like? What do you look for in a chic?
Obviously beautiful, smart and passionate. I don't like the quiet chicks that you've got to start everything with. I like a women who knows what she wants and will initiate things herself once in a while. Also, I like the bad girls as much as I like the good ones.

Do you have any tattoos? If so, where are they and what are they of?
I got a tattoo in the center of my back of a dragon. Kind of like a dragon dressed for battle perched on a ledge. Pretty cool.

If you could fight anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Rene Cervatais. We were at Sage Palm Academy together and when I was a jit he was always kicking my ass. I want some get back. I know I'd smash his ass now.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Oreo and Vanilla

Who are some of your favorite bands? Music genres and music artists?
Korn, Disturbed, Slipknot, Mudvayne, ICP, Sublime, pretty much heavy metal, but also things out of the norm with their own unique sound.

What are some of your favorite movies?
Band Of Brothers, Badder Santa with Billy Bob Thornton, Pineapple Express. I like comedy.

Do you watch much tv? If so, what are some of your favorite shows?
Not really many opportunities to watch tv in here, but I liked 24, Supernatural (one of my favorites) & The Quest.

What are some of your favorite books?
Vince Flynn, James Patterson, John Grisham. My favorite author is James Clavell, his book "Shogun" kicks ass. I like some classic literature, especially survival stories like Robinson Crusoe.

Are you into true crime (or not-so-true crime) if so, what are some of the cases that hold your attention?
I got to say Eddie Gein tops the list. They caught him skinning someone like a deer. Plus the whole body mask and nipple belt was whack! Eddie had some issues!

Leo, thanks for taking the time to talk with us. Do you have any famous last words? If any of our readers would like to get in touch with you are you looking for any new pen pals? If so, how can they get in touch with you?

Not to much on last words. I wouldn't mind hearing from some of your readers though. They can always find my address on the Florida DOC website.
